Theresa Mellette, DO
Dr. Mellette is a board-certified Family Medicine physician dedicated to providing highly personalized relationship-based care. She grew up in South Carolina and moved to West Virginia upon beginning her medical training. She graduated from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic medicine and subsequently completed residency training in Family Medicine. She is board certified in Family Medicine through the American Board of Osteopathic Family Physicians.
Prior to transitioning to outpatient practice, Dr. Mellette had more than a decade of experience caring for medically complex patients in the acute hospital setting as a hospitalist. This has provided a unique depth of experience in recognizing subtle changes in health, coordination and management of complex care and recognizing the importance of treatment plans which focus on prevention and early intervention. In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Mellette has been actively involved in graduate medical education for both medical students and residents. She remains committed to education of both her patients and the next generations of physicians.
Areas of professional interest include preventative medicine, hospital medicine, hospice care and medical education. Dr. Mellette is committed to building lasting relationships with patients by providing comprehensive, patient-centered care that emphasizes prevention, wellness, and individualized treatment plans tailored to each person’s unique health goals and needs.
Dr. Mellette and her husband are the proud parents of two boys, and she enjoys spending quality time with her family. Her other interests away from the office include travel, baking, and various outdoor activities.
